This article describes the ways to support theses in television news programs. Information which was analyzed, was presented from March 1st—3rd, As a result of the analysis it was possible to identify the theses, which are: quotations, paraphrases of public statements or journalistic conclusions resulting from interpretation of socio-political phenomena. The subjects in the question are verbalized by journalists who are running the program or are included in the narratives accompanying the presented film material. Additionally, they also appear in graphically animated banner inscriptions.

The first part of the article briefly discusses the origin and meanings of prudentia as it was employed in the Ciceronian tradition. The notion of prudence as practical judgement in relation to affairs of state is linked here to the Ciceronian mode of arguing in utramque partem, allowing a careful examination of different aspects of any given issue before taking political action.

The second part of the article outlines the ways the notion of prudence is used throughout De vanitate consiliorum. Prudentia is referred to by the characters of the dialogue as a faculty that allows the statesman to make the best of contradictory forces influencing the course of political affairs — a faculty which does not ensure success, but allows one to achieve the best possible result in the contingent sphere of human affairs. An interpretation of the dialogue as a rhetorical exercise in prudence is proposed in this part, arguing that the way Lubomirski employs rhetorical deliberation in utramque partem invites the reader to constantly exercise his own practical judgement in relation to affairs of state.

The aim of the course is to initiate students with basis issues of history, theory and mainly practice of rhetoric in the framework of general introduction to the subject: Rhetoric - Tool in Civil Education. Attention is paid to problems of creating various types of texts also artistic taking into consideration exemplary analyses. Their aim is to teach students some practical abilities and to allow them understand methods used in this discipline and considered problems. The course initiates students with basis problems related to rhetoric theory and its practical applications related to various types of texts also artistic. The course also includes variety of approaches to rhetoric, characteristic for its present stage of development i. Having finished the course, student acquires basic competencies and abilities related to rhetoric theory must become familiar with basics of this science history in order to understand how to use them to text analyses and construction , theory basic abilities of text analysis and construction and functional applications of rhetoric theory rules to various types of texts.
